town beach not outsider friendly, their is very limited public parking for outsiders, food is available at an exorbitant price from the sandpiper restaurant across the street, take out is very expensive, the beach itself is rocky and hard, they have obnoxious high school life guards usually. the water is a #2 rating for being long island sound. there was a war between the beachfront owners and letting out side public parking happen at their private little piece of the shoreline so like i said parking is limited. its an ok beach if you get there before 7am and beat the locals
A very nice beach. Very clean and I have never had a problem while here. A great place to take my child as there is a small childrens park right on the beach.

Nice town beach with several lifeguards. Has a volleyball area and playground on the beach. Also has a covered area with picnic tables. Nice little splash pad across the street from the beach and a seafood restaurant on the corner.
East Haven Town Beach is a small sandy beach with rather acceptable water quality. The grain size of the sand is a little bit too large, so the sand can scratch your skin if you play volleyball, for example. The fact that there are free volleyball courts there is a huge bonus.
